Cyanogen Inc. rejects Google acquisition offer
What seems so exciting is team behind Cyanogen Mod is pretty serious for their custom roms and have not shown any interest in Google’s Sunder Pichai interest. Sunder Pichai hoped to rope in the Cyanogen Mod creative team which has till now done great work of making smartphone even better.
Those of you unaware about Cyanogen Mod its the world’s most popular Android after market firmware which is now officially part of many brand official software like Oppo N1 Cyanogen Mod edition or OnePlus One. The company is currently not generating any revenue from sales or services and is doing the great work because they love doing it which make it more compelling.
There’s only generous donations from supporters to buy developers beer while they work yet the company is worth $1 Billion due to its brand reputation which can easily milk money if it wanted to. Certainly Cyanogen Mod don’t want the name to wash away and hence they won’t sell their company instead partner with manufacturers to have their firmware in devices officially.
The latest development suggest that India’s largest smartphone maker Micromax is keen on Cyanogen Mod ROM for their devices and soon this can be reality which will be very good deal for both Micromax as they need not worry about software updates and secondly Cyanogen Mod as they will be on more devices then ever before.
However soon we will bring in all developments as soon as they happen till then stay connected and follow us on Twitter, Facebook, Google+ and don’t forget to share the love.
