How to Install Android Lollipop on Nexus 5 & Nexus 7
Google unveiled the preview version of Android Lollipop after releasing the Nexus 6, Nexus 9 and Android Lollipop. Soon after factory images of new Android Lollipop were released which aren’t final in any case but are very stable and close to become final.
So below is small and quick guide on how can you get taste of Android Lollipop before final version comes out.

Before you proceed any further make sure to charge your device above 30%, though we recommend a full charged device before proceeding.
Step -2: Make Sure Device Model No
Check the model number of device and make sure you have correct model or device for which the guide is prepared. Be warned before using this guide with any other product from same brand or different brand.
This guide is for Nexus 5 and Nexus 7 2013 WiFi variant only.
Step 0: Backup your Device
Necessary as this process will wipe everything so before hand make a backup and keep it on PC or external SD card. A backup is always recommended.
Step 1: Setup ADB and Fastboot
Follow this guide on How to Setup ADB and Fastboot to setup ADB and if you have ADB tools skip to next step.
Step 2: Download Factory Images

Step 3: Open ADB Connect your phone
Enable USB Debugging on your handset by going into Settings>About and tapping the Build Number seven times. Then go to Setting>Developer Options and check the USB Debugging Box.
Open ADB on PC and connect Phone and type adb devices . If it shows a device attached you are good to go. It may show more than one device in case you have bluestacks and its running so close it first than proceed further.
Unzip the downloaded archive to folder where adb tools are located. Generally Minimal ADB and Fastboot is in C://Program Files/Minimal ADB and Fastboot or C://Program Files(x86)/Minimal ADB and Fastboot and move extracted content to the adb folder.
Then simply start Minimal ADB and Fastboot tool or ADB using method you like, connect your phone using data cable and type
- adb devices
Your device will be listed and then type
- adb reboot bootloader
Now your device will reboot in fastboot mode after that just type
Let the process finish and device will boot up but it will take about 10-15 minutes for complete process as first boot will be generally longer. Congrats now you have Android Lollipop on your device so make sure to show off infront of your friends.
