Android 5.0 Lollipop

So tonight is going to be Christmas coming early for Moto X 2014 owners as the Android Lollipop Test build has been leaked and you can download and update your device withing few minutes.

Currently the Android Lollipop for Moto X 2014 is stable for daily use but there might be few bugs still need squashing. It is basically the stock build you get on Nexus devices with few customization and brand new Material Interface.

So I have clearly made it easy for inexperienced users to flash the OTA on their Moto X and below is full tutorial.

  Guide on How to Flash Moto X 2014

Before you proceed any further make sure to charge your device above 30%, though we recommend a full charged device before rooting.

  Make Sure Device Model No

Check the model number of device and make sure you have correct model or device for which the guide is prepared. Be warned before using this guide with any other product from same brand or different brand.

This guide is for Moto X 2014 only.

  Step 0: Backup your Device

 Not necessary as this process will not wipe anything so before hand make a backup and keep it on PC or external SD card. A backup is always recommended.

  Backup your Android Device.

   Step 1: Setup ADB and Fastboot

Follow this guide on How to Setup ADB and Fastboot to setup ADB and if before you have used ADB skip to next step.

Step 2: Download Moto X Lollipop OTA

  Step 3: Open ADB Connect your phone

Enable USB Debugging on your handset by going into Settings>About and tapping the Build Number seven times. Then go to Setting>Developer Options and check the USB Debugging Box.

Open ADB on PC and connect Phone and type adb devices  . If it shows a device attached you are good to go. It may show more than one device in case you are running bluestacks so close it first than proceed further.

Rename the downloaded file to and move it to folder where adb tools are located and issue the commands given below by connecting phone to PC.

  • adb reboot recovery
  • adb sideload

Now simply wait for the OTA to flash and after successful flashing reboot the phone and enjoy Android Lollipop 5.0
