How To Root Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530H Easily

SM-G530H-Samsung Galaxy Grand-Prime

Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime was launched earlier with 5.5″ HD Display and Quad Core CPU to take on HTC Desire 816 which has proven its mettle in phablet category. Today we bring to you and easy to follow guide to root Galaxy Grand Prime all thanks to XDA member Biggalaxy for creating the root package.

   Guide on How to Root Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530H Easily

Before you proceed any further make sure to charge your device above 30%, though we recommend a full charged device before rooting.

  Step -2: Make Sure Device Model No

Check the model number of device and make sure you have correct model or device for which the guide is prepared. Be warned before using this guide with any other product from same brand or different brand.

This guide is for Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime G530H and its variants only.

  Step -1: Read Advantages and Disadvantages of Rooting

  Advantages and Disadvantages of Rooting your Android Device.

  Step 0: Backup your Device

Not really necessary but better to be safe then to be sorry. A backup is always recommended.

  Backup your Android Device.

  Step 1: Download Required Files

Downlod Root Package icon-arrow-right Mirror -1/Mirror-2  and Samsung USB Drivers(Skip USB Drivers if you already have Samsung Drivers or your device is detected in Odin Mode below)

  Step 2: Unpack the Root Package

Unpack the downloaded root package in a separate folder and install Samsung USB drivers on your PC.

  Step 3: Open Odin and Flash

Just open Odin v3.07 by right clicking and run as administrator. Then Press Volume Down + Home + Power Key together and your phone will boot in download mode. Press Volume Up to continue. Connect device to PC and the ID:COM field should be colored blue.

After this step just click on PDA as shown in screenshot and select extracted from 1_cfroot_sm-g530h_mohan.tar.md5. 

Click on START and let the process end and device will reboot with a green pass in ID:COM field.

Repeat the Step 3 again just select 2_cache_recovery_stock_mohan_sm-g530h.md5.

Now your device is perfectly rooted just enjoy the benefits of being SuperUser.

  Verify Root Access

To verify root access on Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime install the Root Check from   Play Store.

            Vivek, when i get to step 3, click on PDA and choose the 1st file, once i hit start, it stays on SetUpConnection and does nothing, any idea why ? Also, i managed to get my hands on a 530H device, not F.

          If you don’t have any issues you can skip flashing cache

      It also showed RESET instead of PASS. After about 4 minutes [keep the phone connected], it showed PASS. Just be patient.

    After I have successfully rooted my phone, but whenever I restart my phone, this comes up.

    wipe cache partition

    What do I do with this?

          I have the same problem, but i only chosed the first file. Have you trie with the second one to solve the problem?

      You have to disconnect your phone’s USB cord from your PC before pressing Volume up + home + power.

    Hi guyz… . I m confused as which file to chose first coz on xda developers site 2 no. File was asked to flash first. Pls help me out. N btw my baseband is. G530HXXUIANIJ wil it work on my device.

        I have 530az that I just got a couple weeks ago..it was on 4.4.4 when i got it and I searched for an update right away and there was an update available and so I updated it and I am now on lollipop 5.1.1..will this root method still work or was this only for 4.4.4? I really want to root..I am an experienced rooter and have rooted and flashed recoveries/roms for many Samsung devices, and I cannot find anything on rooting this 530az model on 5.1.1..please help!

    I just purchased this phone and I did exactly as stated but when I clicked start after clicking pda and selecting the first file it said recovery and then cache and then fail and now I cannot use my phone because it says firmware upgrade encounter and to recover in kise

    I’m trying to follow this process for my phone (G530AZ on Cricket running 5.1.1) and keep getting the following error in Odin:
