Lava Iris Win1 Windows Phone 8.1 at ₹4,999/$80 launched in India

Microsoft waived licensing fees for sub 8-inch devices for Windows OS and hence Chinese and other OEM’s have joined the Windows Phone platform. Lava Iris Win1 is one of the most affordable Windows Phone 8.1 device at just INR 4,999 which translates to just USD 80 unlocked.

So the price isn’t sole factor in purchasing a product so this phone will come with Windows Phone 8.1, 4-inch device with a WVGA TN display, 1.2 GHz Quad Core Snapdragon 200 CPU, 1GB RAM. 8GB internal storage and external card slot. It also packs dual SIM option.

It has a 5-megapixels BSI+ rear camera with flash and a VGA front camera. It carries the usual bunch of sensors which includes accelerometer, proximity sensor, and ambient light sensor. The device has 3G, WiFi, Wireless Hotspot, Bluetooth and GPS in terms of connectivity. There’s a 1950 mAh battery which will last enough on Windows Phone device.

Lava Iris Win1 is directly competing with Celkon Win 400 which features slightly downgraded specs with half the amount of RAM and Memory and the goodwill is also below Lava. So overall Lava Iris Win1 is best Windows Phone 8.1 device under ₹ 5000 or $80.

It will be available starting from 4th December, 2014 and is currently exclusive to Flipkart.
