Yu, Micromax new entity formed to compete with likes of OnePlus One and Xiaomi, has launched their very first smartphone named Yureka. The best thing about the Yureka is it comes with Android Kitkat based CyanogenMod ROM with localisation and this means software updates will be seeded on time.

Yureka features 5.5-inch 720p HD display with Gorilla Glass 3, Snapdragon 64bit 615 Octa Core SoC. The device comes with 16GB of internal storage and there’s an external card slot. The device also supports 4G LTE(Cat 4) which should be rolling around soon in India on large scale along with Dual SIM.

The device comes with exception sounding stereo speakers and features 13-megapixels camera in rear with led flash and 1080p video recording. The front facing camera is 5-megapixels excellent for great and wide selfie which is most import for youth and Yu main target audience is the Youth.

In terms of connectivity Yu is a complete package with WiFi a/b/g/n/ac, WiFi Direct, DLNA, GPS and Bluetooth 4.0 LE. The device comes in unique Moonstone finish fighting likes of OnePlus One Sandstone finish. It has a 2500mAh battery for getting you a day usage without any trouble.


It will be available exclusively via Amazon.in and is priced INR 8,999. There is no invite but registration is required to purchase Yu and the process begins on 19th December 2014.
