The Sony Xperia E4 leaked in rich detail once before its official announcement, now there’s an entire review out which includes screenshots, camera samples, benchmarks and device pictures in full glory. Official announcement will be maade as early as January 5th, 2015 at CES 2015.
The phone is larger than previous E generation devices with a 5-incg 540 x 960 pixel resolution display According to the review the screen offers pleasing colors, great contrast and viewing angles, good sunlight legibility too. It is comparable to the Xperia M2 screen, which was great.
The Xperia E4 is powered with 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6582 processor with Mali 400 GPU . It has 1GB RAM and runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat with a likely update to Lollipop and Sony Customization which is very minimal. It scores an unimpressive 17,857 in AnTuTu 5. There’s 8GB of built-in storage, of which only 3.8GB is available to users.
In terms of connectivity there’s Wi-Fi and Bluetooth but lacks important growing LTE and NFC. The “SIM1” label on the back confirms there’s a dual-SIM Xperia E4 on the way. The main camera is a 5-megapixels with LED flash that can record 1080p videos. It has a 2500MAh Battery which will get you through a day with moderate usage.
Sony has been doing good in low-range market but stiff competition from Chinese vendors are troubling Sony. With Xperia E4 it doesn’t seems that it is likely to change soon as the specification doesn’t seem all that inspiring. There are phones in the market with far better specifications than E4, Let’s see how Sony prices this phones when other giants like Micromax and Xiaomi are ruling the budget segment.
