Samsung Z1 First Tizen-based smartphone goes official at just INR 5700/$92
Samsung was expected to release their first Tizen OS based smartphone as per earlier leaks and now its officially unveiled for masses and is named Samsung Z1. The device is well priced, spec’d and posses Tizen OS 2.3 and will retail in India at INR 5700/$92.
Samsung Z1 has a decent 4-inch WVGA display, Spreadtrum SC7727S dual core chipset clocked at 1.2GHz with Mali 400 GPU, 768 MB RAM, 4GB of internal memory and expandable up to 64GB via microSD card slot. In terms of optics their’s a 3.1-megapixels rear camera with flash and VGA front camera.
The device supports dual SIM, 3G, 2G, WiFi b/g/n, GPS and Bluetooth in terms of connectivity. It also has a 1500mAh battery with 112 grams of mass. It measures 120.4 x 63.2 x 9.7 mm and is running on Linux based Tizen OS which is supposedly open source platform. It has in-built anti virus. Ultra Power Saving Mode to extend the battery life, free access to Hungama music for three months, Samsung in-house developed app store and Club Samsung premium content.
Samsung Z1 will be available for purchase in White, Black, and Wine Red color variants at INR 5700, with Reliance and Aircel users getting 500MB of free 3G data per month for a period of 6 months with the device. It will be available in next few days in Indian market while global availability is still unknown.
