Microsoft is working hard to capitalize on Lumia brand name and have launched a Windows Phone 8.1 powered smartphone at just €70. It is available in both single and dual sim variants in wide range of colors just like its siblings.
Lumia 435 carries the same design language as seen in Nokia X series and has a 4-inch WVGA 800×480 pixels screen. The brain behind this budget mastermind is 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor and 1GB RAM. It also has 8GB of internal storage with support for additional 128GB.
The major compromising point in device is its camera which is just 2-megapixels fixed focus sensor with no flash. There’s a VGA front camera too which will just suffice the need of video chats. In terms of software it runs on latest Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim and comes with 1560 mAh battery which shall run for a day given lower power consumption by Windows Phone. It covers the basic connectivity options like 3G, WiFi, GPS and Bluetooth but nothing more. Demanding 4G at this price is also not justified.
The handset will begin retailing by early February at about INR 5199/Euro 70 in select European Countries, India and other Asian and African countries.
