Samsung is going through change in naming convention with Galaxy A and E series devices along with change in strategy focusing on lesser number of models. As part of these change Samsung Galaxy E5, Galaxy E7, Galaxy A3 and Galaxy A5 were launched in India, and now Galaxy E5 will also be available in Russia for RUB 19,990 (€270).
Galaxy E5 is not a game changer yet features a decent specification package for a mid-ranger. It has 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED multi touch screen and under the hood is 64-bit Snapdragon 410 chip with quad-core 1.2 GHz Cortex-A53 CPU. Other important specs include 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB expandable storage, an 8-megapixels rear camera with flash and a 5-megapixels front aka selfie cam, dual-SIM connectivity and a 2,400 mAh battery.
It lacks 4G LTE connectivity and will come running on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat with no word on Lollipop update. Naturally E5 will come with Samsung custom Touchwiz UI and tweaks and various Samsung apps and features like Samsung own App Store, Group Play, S-Album, etc.
The device is currently listed on Samsung Official Russian website for RUB 19,990 and is priced little higher than Indian market by 10 percent. More markets are about to receive these devices soon in coming days.
