Microsoft unveils Lumia 640 and Lumia 640 XL at MWC 2015
Microsoft is not far ahead from competition at MWC as Microsoft has unveiled two new budget Lumia devices, Lumia 640 and 640 XL. Both the devices runs on Windows Phone 8.1 with Lumia Denim features inbuilt.
The display on Lumia 640 is 5-inch while the Lumia 640 XL features a 5.7-inch display, although resolution remains same on both devices at 1280 x 720 pixels. Again both devices have same Snapdragon 400 Chipset along with 1GB of RAM.
Both devices will come with LTE connectivity and Dual-SIM variants. In terms of other connectivity options both have WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS. The battery on Lumia 640 is 2500 mAh and 640 XL have a 3000 mAh battery.
The rear camera on Lumia 640 is 8-megapixels with LED flash while Lumia 640 XL has a 13-megapixels camera with Carl-Zeiss Lens. Same difference exist between front camera while Lumia 640 have a basic 1-megapixel front camera, Lumia 640 XL rocks an impressive wide angle 5-megapixels front camera.
Both devices will be available by March end or April beginning in variety of Neon colors just like their predecessors. While the Lumia 640 XL will cost €190 for the 3G version and €220 for the 4G LTE version, Lumia 640 will cost you €140 for 3G version, while the LTE version will be €160. The carriers offering both devices on contract are AT&T, T-Mobile (US and UK), Carphone Warehouse, EE, O2, Orange, MetroPCS and Telefonica.
