How to Root Yu Yunique Quick and Easy

Yu after successfully launching Yureka and Yuphoria has introduced yet another powerfully spec’d budget device in form of Yuphoria. It features 4.7-inch HD display, 8MP camera, and Quad Core Snapdragon 410 with support for Dual SIM and 4G LTE.

So in today’s rooting guide we bring on how to root Yu Yuniq quick and easily.

 WARNING!

Rooting your device may cause loss of warranty. Although Yu Televentures have specifically mentioned they won’t void your warranty for rooting the device.

You are only responsible for any further losses and damages caused to device. We will not be held liable in any circumstances.

   Guide on How to Root Yu Yunique Easily

Before you proceed any further make sure to charge your device above 30%, though we recommend a full charged device before rooting.

  Step -1: Make Sure Device Model No

Check the model number of device and make sure you have correct model or device for which the guide is prepared. Be warned before using this guide with any other product from same brand or different brand.

This guide is for  Yu Yunique only.

  Step 0: Backup your Device

Backup is mandatory as this will wipe data. Backup is always recommended. Below is guide on how to backup most of your data.

 Backup your Android Device.

  Step 1: Downloads the following files

  • Universal ADB and Fasboot Drivers —- Drivers File size: 8.99 MB

  Step 2: How to Unlock Yu Yunique Bootloader

  1. After downloading 15 seconds ADB installer, run the program and a new folder named adb will be created in C Drive of your PC.
  2. Now Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking
    – Goto Settings > About Phone
    – Tap 7 times on Build Number
    – Now Go Back to Settings > Developer Option
    – Enable USB Debugging and OEM Unlocking.

  3. Now switch off the device.
  4. Press Volume UP and then press Power button, after seeing YU Logo leave Power button but keep Volume Up pressed, You will get a vibration and device will boot into recovery.
  5. Using Volume Up and Down key Navigate to Reboot to Bootloader and then press Power Key to confirm.
  6. Open the ADB folder present in C Drive. Now press shift and right click mouse and press on Open Command Window here. Type in CMD

  7. Now a text will come just like in screenshots mentioning Device Unlocked : False.

  8. Now type the command given below to unlock bootloader.
    fastboot oem unlock-go

  9. After bootloader is unlocked device will reboot to system itself that means device is successfully unlocked.

  Step 3: How to Root Yu Yunique

  1. Switch off Device.
  2. Copy downloaded twrp_yunique.img to ADB Folder in Laptop or PC.
  3. Again Press Volume UP and then press Power button, after seeing YU Logo leave Power button but keep Volume Up pressed, You will get a vibration and device will boot into recovery.
  4. Using Volume Up and Down key Navigate to Reboot to Bootloader and then press Power Key to confirm.
  5. Open Command Window from ADB folder or if the window is Open use that only and type and hit enter

  6. The type the following command and hit enter.
    fastboot reboot
  7. Again after restarting the phone transfer the SuperSU file downloaded earlier to internal storage.
  8. Turn device off and reboot to recovery using Power Key and Volume UP. Now in click on Install.zip and browse the storage for the transferred SuperSU.zip and install it.
  9. Congrats you now have a rooted Yu Yunique.

Troublshooting

  • If your command window shows waiting for device then you need to install drivers properly or try using another USB port preferable to use USB 2.0.
  • If still your device is not getting detected just connect it to PC, Open Device Manager and select your device and click on Update Driver Software, Now click Browse Computer for Drivers, then Let me Pick from a List of device drivers, now find the ADB drivers it doesn’t matter if its ASUS, Google, LG, HTC, whichever driver mentions ADB just select it and install and proceed again.

      Hi Anurag, I am not against giving credits, but I seem to have missed the credit section, I will have it edited within next few days when I return from holiday.

      However the tone of your statement is highly hippocritical.

      You have also missed to credit the Chainfire in your Root Yu Yunique post… still you come here with bitter words.

      Simple polite words were sufficient.

    Mobile not responding…after opening command window…it is just showing and nothing happn till now….what to do?

    After I type the line fastboot oem unlock-go my mobile is still in the yunique page itself.. Its not rebooting.. What should I do??? Please help me
