Xiaomi is rapidly gaining market share in India and its value for money smartphones have overshadowed several quality and service issues. Now Xiaomi is getting ready to fight with Oneplus and Honor by launching a competitor that is far better at least on paper.
Mi Mix 2 is a 5.99″ FHD+smartphone and the front of the smartphone is covered by Gorilla Glass 4. It also features 2017-ish 18:9 aspect ratio and runs on MIUI 9 OS on top of Android 7.1.
Snapdragon 835 Kryo Octa-Core chipset makes sure it runs buttery smooth when combined with 6GB/8GB RAM and it comes in 64/128/256GB variants.
12 MP rear camera comes with phase detection autofocus, OIS (4-axis), dual-LED (dual tone) flash and 1/2.9″ sensor size with 1.25 µm pixel size. It is also capable enough to capture 4k videos at 30fps. Sadly the front camera is just 5-megapixels with no stand out features.
On the connectivity front, it comes with Bluetooth 5.0 which allows for simultaneous pairing with two devices, Dual Band WiFi a/b/g/n/ac support, Dual SIM and Dual Standby with support for 4G and VoLTE. It also comes equipped with Fingerprint (rear-mounted), accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, and barometer.
The battery inside the beast is 3400mAh and it supports Qualcomm QuickCharge 3.0 via its USB Type C 1.0 port. The unibody is made from ceramic and comes in Glossy White or Glossy Black color variants.
It is expected to be priced ₹35,999 and will be launched on 10th October 2017 at an event in New Delhi.
