Widevine L1 Certification is a Google’s method of determining whether a device is secure enough so that various app can allow access to content without worries of piracy.

Sadly almost all Chinese vendors fail this test and this is important for Netflix and Amazon Prime HD or above level streaming services. Also, it shows that these vendors aren’t improving the security of their phone as their main benefit is from an untrusted ecosystem of their smartphone.

So basically this list contains all the devices released by Xiaomi in India till date and though many of them come with HD or above the display, they do not have Widevine L1 Certificate. As this certificate is completely free, it sure isn’t a cost-cutting measure for so-called honest pricing they brag about.
