XOLO Omega 5.0 and 5.5 unveiled priced starting ₹ 8,999
XOLO a well know Indian manufacturer has launched two new budget smartphones in the Indian crowded smartphone market named the Omega 5.0 and the Omega 5.5. Surprisingly these handsets look quite similar to Nexus 4 and Galaxy Nexus from front and are priced decently for their specs.
Omega 5.0 has a 5 -inch 720p 1280 x 720 pixels resolution display, 1.4 GHz Octa-Core MTK6592M CPU, 1GB AM, 8GB internal memory with external microSD support upto 32GB.
It also sports 8-megapixel Sony EXMOR R sensor on the back along with LED flash to provide exceptional pics even in low light and 2 megapixel camera on the front. There’s a 2100mAh battery to keep it running through the day without running out of juice anytime soon.
The Omega 5.5 has similar design as Omega 5.0 but on the advantage is a bigger 5.5-inch 720p display, better 13 megapixel Sony EXMOR R sensor on the back and a bigger 2600mAh battery.
Both phones run on Android 4.4 KitKat with XOLO’s recently launched HIVE UI on top which allows users with many other options like changing theme and more customization seen of various aftermarket firmwares like CyanogenMod.
Vodafone India is offering 500MB free 3G data and unlimited music on Vodafone Music for 2 months om Omega 5.0 and Omega 5.5 users will get 1GB of free data instead. The Omega 5.0 is priced at Rs. 8,999 ($145) and the Omega 5.5 at Rs. 9,999($161 and will be available from December 10 and December 20 respectively.
