Lava launches Iris X8 official priced at INR 8,999/$145
Lava has officially unveiled a new smartphone named Iris X8 which will compete with Redmi Note and Yu Yureka. Indian smartphone market has been seeing a bunch of great devices under INR 10,000 and Iris X8 is also falls in the said category and is priced INR 8,999/$145 in India.
Iris X8 will run on Android Kitkat OS and will be upgraded to Android Lollipop 5.1 soon. It is powered by a MediaTek chipset clocked at1.4Ghz octa-core processor, and houses a 5-inch 1280 x 720 pixel multi-touch IPS display with Asahi Dragontrail glass protection. The devices comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage.
In terms of optics there’s a 8-megapixels rear camera sensor with dual LED flash. Selfie camera is also taken care of with 3-mnegapixels front facing camera. Although its not equivalent to competitors, but as Yureka and Redmi Note are not available in surplus its not a bad deal. In terms of connectivity it features major options lik 3G HSPA+, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and USB OTG but misses the 4G network connectivity.
The devices also comes loaded with some cool smart gestures to wake up smartphone and launch various apps and activity by drawing on screen. It is also not that heavy as it weighs 160g and measures 70.9 × 143.4 ×8.6 mm, although the handset packs in a 2500 mAh battery. The handset will be exclusively available online for sale on Flipkart and also through retail outlets from 9th February starting 12.00 noon in black and white color options.
