Reliance Jio 4G has officially started the roll out of Jio 4G for public although you may not be able to get your hands on the Jio 4G connection in next couple of months just yet.
The new connection will be limited to buyers of LYF series of handset, on buying any of the LYF brand handset customer will be given a new connection with 4G benefits. Currently company is planning to give 10GB of data every month for three months.
So you can now go and grab their minimum ranged device LYF Flame 1 at just Rs 5,599 and get 4G data worth Rs. 3,000 and if you compare it to Airtel’s 4G pricing the benefit will be more than Rs 9,000.
Jio also has a strong network built up, also the service platform is quiet impressive with Jio Play offering 301 HD channels and SD channels combined for free, Jio Beats is still rising which is essentially a competition to Saavn and Gaana, Jio On Demand offers Movies, Videos, Trailers and Jio Join can enable VoLTE on non VoLTE enabled smartphones.
In our trials Jio 4G has managed to impress us so far with no network outage throughout the city we tested it on, and the speed seemed decent for the price averaging 20mbps -40mbps. The live streaming of HD videos even with one network bar was flawless.
So its time Airtel face a real threat in telecom segment, although until the nation wide rollout begins Airtel can keep on with their premium pricing.
